Wicked Wildfire Read-A-Thon

Wicked Wildfire Readathon

#WWReadathon is back with the 5th edition: Wicked Wildfire Read-A-Thon Vol. 2!

Whether you are an old WWReader or a new one, you are extremely welcome to sign up an join in on the fun. Information and the sign up linky will be found below and April will be available for further questions via myshelfconfessions@gmail.com.

We hope to see you all there! ♥

The Wicked Wildfire Read-A-Thon is a time when we all get together to dedicate the days of June 7-14 to as much reading as possible. You read as much as you can in order to get yourself a little further through that huge to-read pile! We know real life gets in the way and even if you can’t participate more than one day, you’re welcome to join in on the fun!

In the meanwhile, we will be hosting book-related challenges where you can win some awesome prizes and have a Twitter party at the hashtag #WWReadathon! You can posts updates on your blog, Twitter, Goodreads or Facebook — as long as the profile is public and we all can enjoy your reading progress!

Sign up now!

  • Whether you can join us one, two, three, four or five days of the event, you are very welcome to sign up! It’s all up to you when, what and how much you read.
  • How to sign up? Just fill out the linky below with the URL where we can find your updates! Blog, Twitter, Goodreads or Facebook profile/pages
  • The linky will be open until midnight EST Tuesday, June 11 to give as many interested as possible a chance to join in on the fun!
  • Afraid you’ll forget about it before it’s time? Don’t worry! We’ll be sending out a reminder & intro e-mail to everyone signed up on the linky.
  • When participating, you only have to read. However, it’s always fun reading starting posts and updates on your progress throughout the event! Even settling with a wrap-up post only to show how the reading went when it’s over, is fine.
  • The Read-A-Thon will officially start Friday, June 7 at 12:01am EST and end Friday, June 14 at 23:59pm EST.
  • Find other participants’ updates through the linky below or at #WWReadathon on Twitter!
Here’s the schedule for the challenges that will be held during the week. Every challenge will go on for 48 hours and feature an international giveaway as well! I’ll be updating the schedule with the direct link (√) after the posts go up!

Like last time, we will be offering a few Mail Linky Prizes in the end of the read-a-thon!

  • To be able to win a Main Linky prize, you have to have done at least one challenge and one update post during the entire weekend. Every challenge you participate in gives you (+1) extra entry.
  • The form allowing you to enter the Main Linky giveaways can be found on this post, as well as a sticky post on the host’s blogs from the starting date, so no worries if you’re not able to participate the whole weekend. NOTE: You can only fill in the form once, so make sure you’re finished with the read-a-thon!
  • The form will stay open until midnight EST Sunday, June 16 for those who can’t, or miss, filling it out on Friday.

 Twitter Party! #WWReadathon

[Time to come closer to the event!]

You’ll have a chance to win some prizes on there as well, so be sure to stop by! Of course we’ll be there throughout the week too, though! ;)

    1. I hope I can participate at least a little bit.

    2. This is going to be fun! A Valentines Day read-a-thon is a fantastic idea, both as a theme and as a way to beat those mid-winter blahs. Going to need to pick out some books with care for this to make sure I use its theme in all the right ways. ;) I really need to do something about my e-mail settings–this ended up in my junk folder. O.o Good thing I expect things to do that, I guess? *shrugs* Ah well. Let’s see what January brings, then it’ll be time to start counting down the days!

      • We thought it’s be the perfect time too, those mid-winter blah’s are the worst! What better way than to spend them away reading and meeting new friends :D So glad you were able to get the email despite it ending in the junk folder! So glad to have you with us :D

    3. Yay! I have a Goodreads challenge read-a-thon the exact same week so I’ve got TWO reasons to read like a demon! Thanks for hosting lovelies!

      • Yaya! That’s awesome, it’s always cool to have more than one read-a-thon challenge at the same time, double the motivation! :D Thanks for joining us, we’re excited already! :D

    4. Yeah, so excited for this! Can’t wait to read along with everyone. :)

    5. Signed up! This looks so much fun :-) I love read-a-thons!

    6. This looks like fun! I’ve signed up, since I don’t have anything going on in February yet… I participated in my first blogging read-a-thon earlier this month and didn’t do as well as I’d hoped but still MUCH better than any normal week…

    7. I think I participated in one of these a while back, but couldn’t see it through to fruition because of some pressing matters that popped up, but I’d love to try again. :-)

      • Woohoo! Happy to have you on board! It’s nice to have a week so that you don’t feel pressured but it’s still fun! We’re all about the fun with out readathons and meeting new friends :D

    8. Woah, this sounds AWESOME! I’m really considering the idea of entering. That’s such a great idea! :D

      • You should join us! It’s tons of fun and you meet a lot of new friends :D It’s nice because you find cool people, new books, fun challenges (that are optional) and you don’t have to obligate yourself everyday – it’s whatever is fun for you. :)

    9. I’ll join!! Probably not the whole week, but I have a couple of free days before Valentine’s Day (Carnaval!!), and it would be great to read :P

    10. I’m so glad you guys are doing this again! I can’t believe this will be #4! :-)

    11. Alright, I’m in! :D I’ve only done one Read-A-Thon so far and that was so much fun. I hope to participated every day, but I will see how far I can get. Thanks for hosting :D

      • Woohooo!! So glad to have you! I hope you’re able to participate everyday but no stress if you can’t! We’re more about the fun and meeting, greeting & reading than pressure :D

    12. I thought I had signed up, but I guess I didn’t! So now I have!

    13. Woo-hoo, definitely need the read-a-thon to get me through some books. :) Excited to be participating!

    14. Hi this is the first time I’m participating in a Wicked Readathon. Hope I do better in this Readathon than the last readathon I participated in (shame) LOL here’s my My #WWReadathon intro post.

    15. Yippeee *happy dance* I found out about a read-a-thon before the last day!

      *skips away happily*

    16. Glad to have found you from Melissa’s Eclectic Bookshelf. Excited to be participating in my first read-a-thon and have 3 books I wanted to get done this week (which is a lot for me amidst normal life as a working mom of 3 boys). I see a lot of late-night reading ahead of me this week.

    17. Thank you for hosting April – this is my first time participating in your event, and my first Read-A-Thon ever! Tanya from Mom’s Small Victories tweeted me about the event, and I also saw it listed on Michelle @ True Book Addict’s site.

This is a busy week for me but I look forward to tweeting with you tomorrow and to reading as much as possible before the event closes!

Have a fabulous day and I hope you’ll have a chance to stop by for a visit!

    18. I’m already doing the reading so it will be fun to be signed up. My Twitter handle is @BrendaPerrott

    19. I planned to sign up but then totally forgot. When I remember the RAT has started for a few days already, and I thought oh well… next time. But just can’t resist being #100. : D

      • haha i wouldn’t be able to resist either! woohoo! Glad you signed up! We’re glad you’re with us for however many days! Never be hesitant to sign up even a few days in to the WWReadathons, we purposefully leave them open for latecomers – we love it even if people can only join us for one or two days, it’s just about the fun :D

    20. Just found out about this! I didn’t link my start up post- http://aboveaveragebelowspecial.blogspot.com/2013/02/wicked-valentines-read-thon.html!
Excited to get down to some reading :)

    21. Linky’s closed, but I’ll do what I can! I was away in Atlanta as the matron of honor for a wedding from Thurs before the sun rose to Sunday night, and then yesterday was a day full of laundry and catching up! So I’ll start now!

My goals are to finish the short story book I’m reading, read at least 20% more of Quiet by Susan Cain, and start reading The Twelve Tribes of Hattie! I also need to write a few blog posts!

    22. Thanks for hosting the read-a-thon April, it was such fun. I can’t believe I won the prize and got all my 3 books read in a week! I look forward to joining up in future read-a-thons! I loved meeting new bloggers at the twitter parties and have lots of new book blogs to visit.

    23. This was so much fun! :D

    24. Awesome! Looking forward to some Wicked Fun!!

    25. This is great…and such perfect timing at the start of my vacation :-)
