    1. My dream character crush is Aragorn from The Lord Of The Rings. I loved his bravery and chivalry from the first time I read the books and when he came to life on the big screen – wow! The perfect scene would be for him to come riding up on a white stallion with a single long-stemmed rose, to dismount and to get down on one knee and make a romantic heartfelt speech, and then to sweep me off my feet and to ride off with me into the sunset. Yes, I think a scene like that would rock my world!

    2. My dream valentine would be Nicholas from the Talisman series written by Brenda Pandos. From his first scene in the first book he’s just been my Mr. WOW. lol. In the book he has super abilities like jumping high and moving fast. So, the perfect scene would be a picnic high up in the mountains (out of reach of everyone) near a crystal clear pond and waterfall at sunset. We could just sit back on the blanket overlooking the city below while we enjoy our chocolate covered strawberries and wine. To make it even more perfect, the pond would have floating candles and roses and we’d take a midnight swim.

    3. My dream character crush is Peeta from The Hunger Games. If I was starving on Valentine’s Day all he would need to do is bring me some bread!

But for real, I think a picnic in a pretty green field on a blanket would be so romantic, and a little more relaxing than a fight to the death. But alas, I know it can’t happen. Because of book 3 (trying not to reveal spoilers), because he’s too young for me, and because I’m married.

    4. I have quite some dream crushes in the books. Despite the fact that I have found my dream crush in real life ;) I really liked Gavriel Duval from Grave Mercy. There is something broody about him. He sounds so attractive in a non-perfect-my-hair-always-shines-way. I’m getting so tired of all the pretty boys, so he is awesome. He is also very good at solving mysteries and he can definitely protect me when we are going out on the streets at night. You know, I’m not such a very romantic type, but I appreciate everything a lot. The fact that someone takes the time and effort to come up with something means more than enough for me :) I would love to have a walk on the beach in the night. The reflection of the starry sky in the ocean is pretty and afterwards, we pick a good mystery movie where he can solve the problem in the first five seconds :p.

    5. Oh but I have so many!!! However, the most recent has to be Jaime Lannister from the A Song of Ice and Fire series. He’s this mix of puffed up self-assurance and blatant insecurity that makes me giggle yet breaks my heart. He has a devilish wit and isn’t afraid to speak his mind. He has this intensity and intelligence to him, that makes him love unabashedly but also reaps countless misunderstandings. He’s a man who’s loyal to the death but knows himself well enough to know who and what’s important. Not sure if I’d like him to bring anything, but, together, I’d love for him to give me a tour of Casterly Rock. I’d love to see the hideouts he had, as a child, the ruins and landscape. Walking and talking about his life , listening to his thoughts and adventures— I’m sure to learn so much from him. That is more than enough on this Valentine’s Day!

    6. My dream character crush is and will always be Red, the male protagonist of my favorite book, Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier. He’s like perfection in one character. One time I described him as a bundle of all things awesome, like rainbows, unicorns, bunnies, puppies, kittens, the smell of the earth after a rainy day, and chocolate, sweet, tasty, addictive chocolate, and new books! He’s like that feeling of warmth that spreads through your body when the sun touches your skin. That’s him. Not kidding.

Ooh, he would only need to show up, no other gift or action would be required. (Although a back massage would be nice.)

    7. My dream character is Cooper from Tidal by Emily Snow. *drool* A surfing teacher with awesome abs and caring nature. What more does a girl need? I just want him to teach me surfing and go naughty in the sand (oops, did I just say that?) ;)

    8. I don’t really have dream crushes or book boyfriends, but I’ll go with Vlad from Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series and spinoffs. I’d like to visit his castle, because really, who doesn’t want to visit a castle? As for what we’d do, sit around and talk about history, and mock all the different incarnations of Dracula that have been written.

    9. I have just finished First Drop of Crimson by Jeaniene Frost so I will say Spade – he is such a gent! I always feel awkward when people – even family – spend money on me so I honestly have no idea what he could do or bring…. Himself? ;) Or he could bring me the deeds to a book shop – the dude is a super rich immortal it would be pocket change to him so I am sure I could get over the awkwardness eventually….

    10. My dream character crush would be Eric Northman from the Southern Vampire Mystery Series. After all the series I’ve read, he’s definitely my favorite. It’s probably the whole Norwegian thing. I’m mostly Norwegian (and probably some German). My great-great grandfather settled in Minnesota from Norway and because it was such a tight-knit community we celebrated Norwegian holidays! But I digress…Eric is awesome…and a vampire. So many things just make him awesome. I love his mischievousness!

I’m a simple girl with simple needs on VDay. CHOCOLATE! :) Lots and lots of chocolate.

    11. All of these are great answers!! I love to see the variety of reads: from Martin’s Song of Fire and Ice to Harris’ Sookie and Frost’s Night Huntress!!!

I’m going to go the popular route and pick Garrick from Cora Carmack’s “Losing It” (that oh-so-popular new adult genre). Besides the fact that I can’t stop staring at the cover of the book…

… um.. I’m back. *swipes drool off chin* What was I saying? Oh, yeah, Garrick. He’s British, hot, and a total gentleman who would take care of me if I should ever get deathly sick and need a cuddle-buddy in bed.

All I’d want is to meet up with him in a pub, have him make a pass at me, and then I sit down and join him. Then he has me scoot my chair closer to him and you know you can just feel the electricity :) Then he invites me back to his place for some coffee and talk and things happen…

WAIT! That suspiciously sounds like the first chapter of the book. Crap… I have no imagination anymore. Can I just go live in a book or three???

Thank you for a great week!! I didn’t get around like I wanted to. Life came up! But I did get 1/2 the reading I wanted to get done finished :)
Thanks for hosting and for the great giveaways!!!

    12. My dream character crush is Jem from The Infernal Devices. I love that he is kind and accepting, listens to rambling and he’ll always be there for you. I admire his strength and appreciate his understand, he’s just an all round great character.

Jem doesn’t even need to do anything to win my heart for Valentine’s, he already has it. :P But I’d love for him to take me out to the beach at night and we’ll lie on the sand staring at the stars sharing a bottle of wine and delicious chocolate. I’d love to listen to him talk about his life and then maybe we’ll go skinny dipping. Or not. xD

    13. My character crush is Phouka from War for the Oaks by Emma Bull. He’s attentive, funny, and pretty darn hot in his own way. We’d go see Shakespearean play. While A Midsummer Night’s Dream or The Tempest might be the obvious choices, I think we’d both enjoy Twelfth Night best, with its cross-dressing and misunderstandings. After, we’d wolf down a slab of triple chocolate cake paired with a nice oatmeal stout. Then we’d retire to the couch by the fireplace for some snuggling and reading, sharing the best parts of whatever novels we’re consuming.

    14. Kai( Fiction State of Mind) says:

I would choose Lord Snow frome Game of Thrones. I really adore him! I would love a snowy walk and ending with a valentine bonfire and snuggling :)

    15. Okay, don’t fault me when you read who I chose. You see, I usually do not develop crushes on book characters, but that all changed when I read the Twilight series. The way Edward felt about Bella brought me back to the good old days (I won’t go into details, but let’s just say…one failed marriage later) and I found myself really touched. So, Edward it is. Now what would he bring me on Valentine’s day? Well, since money is no object for him, I wouldn’t want something that has monetary value. I think a bouquet of wildflowers from that lovely meadow that he and Bella…I mean me…spent many an hour. LOL!

    16. I’d have to say that I’m going to be unoriginal, I’d go with Edward Cullen in the perfect scene at the movies so Isle Esme…tell me what more you can’t love about that island? And oh that house!!! OMG just take me to the Island Edward Cullen and I’ll leave my Hubby LOL JK

    17. This is quite hard as I don’t really have a dream, or curse on a character from a book. But I really like Jeb from the book White Girl. Jeb is Native American. He is nice, accepting and really cares about the person he is with. He doesn’t let others peoples opinions affect how he feels about the person he is with. And I think that is what would steal my heart, staying true to the person you love and not letting others come in between you two and defending you when the need arises.

    18. I missed this one, I worked yesterday and was dead on my feet..because I stayed up till 2:20 the night before consuming Wallbanger..which by the way was epic..and I would go on a date with Simon Parker any day..*just don’t tell hubs*

    19. My crush would be Luke from the Shopaholic Series. He is so grounded and strong but also willing to indulge her silly endeavors. I could use someone like him to sweep me off my feet. Plus being rich and gorgeous is nice too
