Summer Wrap Up Read-A-Thon

The Summer Wrap Up Read-a-Thon is being hosted by Jude @ In Between Writing & Reading and Jennifer @ Some Like It Paranormal. You can sign up here!

I’m in desperate need of a readathon so this couldn’t come at a better time! I’m looking forward to participating and getting some good reading done!

I have a lot ton of books I’d LIKE to get read during this time, but what I’ll actually be able to read will probably be different – I just can’t read as fast as I’d like to! :D

Here is my To-Read List for the Wrap-Up:

The Bellwether Revivals Benjamin Wood (totally forgot to add the book I have been reading!) Finished!

◊ The Prisoner of Heaven by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

◊ Monument 14 by Emmy Laybourne

◊ Between You and Me by Nicola Kraus & Emma McLaughlin

◊ Mrs. Robinson’s Disgrace by Kate Summerscale [currently reading but not sure if I'll stick with or pick up something else]

◊ Into the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes

◊ Thy Neighbor by Norah Vincent

◊ The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Long

◊ Midwinter Blood by Mons Kallentoft

Depending on how I feel I might mix this list up a bit, so we’ll see how it goes! I just hope I can power through whatever books I decide to read and catch up a little bit! :)

Happy reading everyone, hope we all have a blast!

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren

This is the second In My Mailbox vlog (well, my version of a vlog) for My Shelf Confessions, I hope you enjoy it! I have fun making these and everyone seems to like them, they take a lot more work than a simple post, so I will save them for when what I get in the mail is really cool! (Which we can hope is all the time, right?) haha :D

This week we’ve gotten:

The Infernals by John Connolly from Atria (reading it now, it’s hilarious!)

A box of books from Harper (thanks a million!) – prizes for the Wonderfully Wicked Read-a-thon – you ARE signed up for that aren’t you? If not get on it, we start October 21!

Elizabeth Miles sent me a signed poster for her book Fury, which I really look forward to reading soon! Thanks Elizabeth! <33

Have an amazingtastic week everyone!

Teaser Tuesday & Read-A-Thon Update

Once Upon a Read-a-Thon

Teaser Tuesday & Read-A-Thon Update

I’m sorry, I’ve been horrible about updating for the Read-A-Thon. Like I said, I’m a slow reader and yesterday and today have been even worse! I feel like I’m reading at turtle’s pace. Well, more like a turtle on a treadmill walking along and getting nowhere. I’ve read a total of 80 pages in my 200 page book, Nether by Jason Beymer. I am really enjoying the book, I just don’t get why I’m reading so slow. I think it’s because I feel the “pressure” to read fast and it’s working against me.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Nether by Jason Beymer, book coverI’ll take a quote from the current page I’m on:

Burklin clutched the steering wheel tighter, hands slick with sweat. His mother would likely shoot him dead the second he walked through her door.

But that was a chance he had to take.

                                                                – pg. 98 Nether, Jason Beymer

I hope everyone else is having more success than I on this Read-a-Thon!
