Today My Shelf Confessions is very pleased to be opening the blog tour for Robert J. Duperre’s new book Silas! There are some very exciting things planned for the tour – we’ll get to that in a few. For now, let’s read what an average day in Rob’s life is like as a writer:
Ah, my day as a writer. It goes something like this:
5:30 AM Wake up in the morning.
5:45 AM Get ready for work.
6:15 AM Go to work.
6:30/9:00/12:00/3:00 Read before work, during lunch, and every break in between. (I usually read for about two hours a day this way,)
6:00 PM Come home from work
6:01 Kiss Jess (my wife and fabulous artist)
6:05 Check email, hang out, yawn
7:00 Eat dinner
7:30/8:30 PM Head downstairs to my basement studio
10:30 PM Stop pounding away at the keys…though this could last past 10:30 if the inspiration demands me to
10:31 PM Spend some more time with Jess
11:00 PM Time for sleep!
This is my usual schedule. On days I don’t work, sometimes I get down there early and write all day, sometimes I stick to the above schedule, only replacing time at work with time with my wonderful wife. Yes, it’s a hectic schedule, but I wouldn’t change a thing!
Silas by Robert J. Duperre
Robert J. Duperre, author of The Fall and Dead of Winter, now presents Silas, a contemporary fantasy novel.
Ken Lowery is a man at odds with his life. He hates his job, is disappointed in his marriage, and feels resigned to leading a mundane existence.
That all changes when his wife brings home a rambunctious Black Labrador puppy named Silas, who forges a remarkable connection with Ken and begins to heal his inner turmoil. When some neighborhood children start to go missing, he takes it upon himself to protect those around him and is thrust into a surreal world where monsters roam. Not everything is what it seems to be, he soon discovers, including his new best friend
Answer the question of the day in the form provided and you are entered in the Kindle3 Giveaway. Choose one of two answers (questions center around a playlist of songs Rob put together for Silas).
