Shelf Reflections is a fun post where I & Tabs let all of you in on what we do when we’re “blogging,” the various happenings around the blog, where ever [my] internet ADD takes me or what we’re excited about. Basically a smorgasbord of amazingtasticness. Or weirdness. Take your pick!
It feels like too long since I’ve posted a Shelf Reflections post! Sorry for the absence; lately I’ve had quite a few days where I just haven’t been feeling up to blogging. The plus side is that I’m doing fabulously on my reading goals and Tabs and I even joined two challenges this month – the Clean Out Your E-Reader Challenge, hosted by Fantasy is More Fun and the Take Control of Your TBR Pile which is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. You can check out both of our posts for more information and to sign up [and our sidebar as well.]
I’m excited because even though the regular Olympics is over the Paralympics start this week! This will be my first year that I’m able to watch the Paralympics since it’s on NBC’s sports channel and we JUST got it shortly before the Olympics started, so yaya! I get to be consumed by the Olympics for a bit longer, woohoo!
I love this song so much. I first heard it played by U2 on the The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, it’s beautiful! In fact, this is their acoustic performance that Fallon asked them to perform, I love both versions equally!:
U2 – Ordinary Love
I’ve been stuck on Sara Bareilles latest album The Blessed Unrest ever since I first heard it, every time I listen to it I find a new favorite song, this is my current love:
Sara Bareilles – I Choose You
I’m SO excited my favorite music from Hit Record’s first season has been released on an album! It’s on Spotify too! This is one of my all-time favorites and also has a wondrously awesome animated short to go with it (although I can’t find the full of it on Youtube but here is the song at least!):
Peppina – Beastly Beauty
And your weekly dose of awesomeness! This will make you laugh and it made me realize the power of feeling gratitude.. what joy children can show us, joys and things to be grateful for all around us if we only look! Imagine starting your day this way, I bet it’d start a revolution!
My favorite part – “I can do anything good, yeah, yeah, yeah!”
Jessica’s “Daily Affirmation”
What has been distracting you lately? I’m always on the hunt for new music, so what’s on your playlist right now? Or any confessions you’d like to get off your chest, hmm?
