Swedish Surprise!
I got a lovely box filled with Swedish goodies from Bex @ Kindle Fever! She even sent me a lovely note written in Swedish (and was gracious enough to send an English translation – to save me from Googling every other word LOL) I unfortunately forgot to take a pic of the letter – but I took pics of all the goodies – and the awesome neon green box everything came in (never had a neon green box show up before!!)
The package was a bit damaged on the top – it looked like someone punched it really LOL but thankfully everything inside was safe and sound.
This is a little snapshot of right after I opened a hole wider in the top – I was too lazy to do it the “proper” way..I figured since there was already the start of an opening
You can see the lovely light purple envelope the notes came in.. and that on top (Djungelvral) is Salt Licorice.. what Bex and I have termed “Swedish Torture Candy”
(I made my mom try the salt licorice 4 times because I didn’t get it on camera each time… and I wanted Bex to see someone’s reaction eating it for the first time.. good thing my mom is a good sport – and I let her have one of my Swedish chocolates
This is the entire contents of the box! I’m eating the Plopp as I’m making this post – it’s basically small bars of milk chocolate filled with gooey toffee (nomnomnom), The bilar (those colorful candies behind the salt licorice) are interesting too! They are a mix between our peeps and those opaque type gummies we have here. The Aladdin chocolate is a mxed bag – well it IS mixed chocolates LOL I like most of them but the other day I tried a “likor” (liquor) one (before I looked to see what it was) and almost spit it out.. I definitely didn’t eat the rest – it tasted EXACTLY like our over the counter cherry cough syrup – except a bit more alchoholy.. 0_0 LOL My dad loves them though.. so I let him eat all the rum ones too.. hahaha
And an extra little treat.. this is my mom getting one of her first tastes of salt licorice (it was actually the 4th time.. I couldn’t get the video to save.. so I asked her to try it again.. 4 times.. she almost stopped believing me that I couldn’t get the video LOL I told her she was going to be famous now on my blog ![]()
Thanks so much Bex for sending it along, I hope to sometime soon send you a Taste of America box!
Thanks to Little Brown | Reagan Arthur, S&S | Washington Square Press, Macmillan’s Children’s| Henry Holt, Bloomsbury Children’s, HarperCollins | Harper, Wordcrafts, and to Augusta Blythe for sending all the books along!

Wonderful haul..looks like you will have plenty to read next weekend and lots of snacks to enjoy!!!!!!
Haha Plopp!
Swedish candy!! Mmmmm. If you send her American candy, send some Peachies.. Yum. lol. Your mom eating that reminded me of when my brother gave me some candy from Mexico. It was really sweet and good, then when I got to the middle it was a huge chunk of salt. I gagged so bad. Your mom is definitely a good sport for doing that so many times.
Wow, so great! Swedish! Hehe… I bet it’ll get to a point where you’d not need the google translator!
Anyway, great haul. I hope you’ll enjoy all your books. Happy Reading!
Ron @ Stories of my life
How can you not like Djungelvrål?! Haha! Best video ever! The Swedish chocolate is so delicious. Next time you must ask her to send you some Norwegian chocolate from Freia (She’ll understand what Freia is). Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Do you have IKEA near your area? I think you can get some of that Swedish chocolate there. IKEA is after all Swedish.
Nice! Haven’t heard of these books but hope you enjoy them all! The Swedish chocolate looks amazing too!
Here’s my IMM
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower
Sounds you like had a great week. Wow I’m jealous. Happy reading and enjoy the chocolate. Really they have Swedish chocolate at IKEA? I think I knew that at one point but that was a happy reminder.
Here’s mine: http://danicapage.blogspot.com/2012/01/in-my-mailbox-12.html
I had a really nice week! The candy actually came from Bex @ Kindle Fever, who lives in Sweden
I’ve never been to an IKEA but I love their furniture
Thanks for stopping in!
Yes I knew that you didn’t get your chocolate from IKEA. I was referencing the previous comment.
And you are most welcome!
oooooh I see now LOL In comment moderation format I don’t see the comments the same way, so I didn’t see the other comment you were referencing
Makes sense now
So nice of Rebecca to do that, and so exciting to try foreign sweets! Great IMM as well, enjoy all your goodies!
Great set! Jealous of the Swedish goodies. I love Sweden.
My IMM
I’ve never been there but it’s definitely a cool country – and the candy is awesome – except for that salt licorice LOL Thanks for dropping in
OOOh a lot of books I don’t know anything about, I would be curious to learn them about them. Enjoy them all!
My IMM
I’m REALLY psyched for The Vanishing Game, I’ve had my eye on that one for a few months now
Thanks for stopping in
So Cool!!!
Ick! My first taste of salt licorice was similar… and swiftly followed by me spitting it out
Swedish Torture Candy? Uh, yes. Think you have it nailed
LOL yes exactly torture candy hahahha I love my mom, she did it FOUR times because i couldn’t get the video to save hahaha so she REALLY got tortured.. then i was kinda mean and wouldn’t give her the tissue to spit it out in LOL :X I’m evil. hahaha but I told her now she’s famous LOL
